BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Here are Morristown's local champions, Book Busters, who participated in the Regional Battle of the Books on Saturday, May 21st in Gouverneur.  The team was tested on their knowledge of 20 Juvenile award-winning novels.  Please join me in congratulating this impressive team.  Job well done!

IF YOU LIKE WOODEN BOATS AND HISTORY THEN THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU

The library is pleased to add Rowdy by Christopher Madsen to our collection.  It is the story of a 59-foot Classic Herreshoffs built in 1916 for the New York Yacht Club and purchased for $5,000 in 1998 by the author.  As he was rebuilding her he became fascinated with her original owners.  He spent countless hours reading musty old newspapers which led to more research in libraries, historical offices and town halls.

A CLOSE-KNIT GROUP GIVES CROCHET LESSONS

School break doesn't necessarily mean a break from learning, as these young ladies found out during the library's knitting group today.  Lifelong learning - it's what libraries do.  CHECK IT OUT.

ANNUAL BOOK SALE

Once again, the attic is full of fabulous books that will be offered for sale (CHEAP CHEAP).  Free coffee will be available.

HATS HATS HATS

Need a beautiful hand-made hat for a Christmas gift?  Why not support library programs while you shop?  Come see the available collection during library business hours and also at The Sheer Image Beauty Salon 375-9942.

LIBRARY EXPANDS

Thank you to executors Mary and Rick Petrie for choosing the library as a recipient of the Madlyn Gladle estate.  With it and a New York SED Library Construction Grant we've purchased the lot next door.  The new library park is a tremendous addition to the neighborhood.
