The Teresa Schlachter Memorial Audio Collection

The library is privileged to have been named the recipient of donations in memory of Teresa Schlachter by her son Tim Schlachter and Kate Ferris of Greenfield Center, NY.  Each of these 14 New York Times Best Selling audio titles were purchased through this account and are available immediately for patrons to enjoy.

College Applications and Community Service. What's the Connection?

As the percentage of high school graduates who attend colleges and universities increases each year the competition for acceptance into these institutions also increases.  The time to begin distinguishing yourself from thousands of other applicants is now!  Why not include community service on your application?  Community service is an effective account of your dedication to life-long learning, improving yourself and that of the area in which you live.  It enhances your desirability as an applicant by - not passively - but ACTIVELY demonstrating your commitment to succeed.

Thank you for joining us at the library for a fabulous after-school family program with the Fragile Planet Wildlife Center. Tyler and Nick brought five exciting wild friends and spoke about each of the animals for about an hour. What a fun way to learn so much!

Bruce Dana joined us with his wonderful and generous photography talents, so be sure to grab a copy of North Country Now's next issue!
