LOCAL AUTHOR DONATES BOOK

You know it's going to be a great day when it starts with a surprise visit from a local author AND he has brought a gift copy of his last book in the Upcountry Series, "The Beginning Game". Thank you, Rick Doyon for popping in and also for sharing the news that you are working with Hollywood producers on a screenplay. We can't wait to see who the director casts.

BALLOT RESULTS

Thank you to everyone who turned out in support of the library.  We are very pleased to announce that our request of an additional $3,000 was approved by 72%!  It means a great deal to us that the people of Morristown support the library's mission of providing access to the world of information, social and cultural ideas to the community.  Be sure to check out our calendar for upcoming events!

GARDEN SHARE

So you've heard of a Cookie Exchange, right?  Well, this is a Plant Exchange!  Library Trustee Lisa Ditta came up with this fabulous idea when she was doing her Spring yardwork.  She has extra plants to offer, and maybe you do as well.  If so, please bring your extra plants that you would be interested in trading to the library in labeled containers.  We'll have the picnic table out front for you to leave them.  If you bring two plants you are welcome to take two of someone elses, just like a cookie exchange.  What a great idea, Lisa!

LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION

The perimeter has been drawn!  I spent some time this morning walking around the chalk lines and imagining the new library; the addition of much-needed space and the fabulous views we are all going to be able to enjoy.  It is very exciting to be a part of this wonderful addition.  Thank you, to EVERYONE who has supported the library and made this essential improvement possible.  Morristown is a great place to be!

The Summer Reading Kickoff Show featuring comic mime Robert Rivest at Chapman Park was phenomenal.  School Librarian Amber Gladle arranged to have the K - 6 students walk to the park for a 45 minute  show.  Thank you to the remarkable teachers and staff that made this possible.  A very special thank-you goes to Brian Smith who arranged emergency sound equipment and even took the morning off work to set it up.  So f
