New York Library Association recognizes that the 'large gathering ban' from the Governor's Office provides an exemption for libraries. That said, the volume of visitors into a library on a given day makes it exceptionally difficult to safeguard public and employee health, and to curtail community transmission.
With this in mind, the Board of Trustees of the Morristown Public Library have resolved to close this facility until April 20th.
We do not take these decisions lightly — they are necessary because of the unprecedented public health crisis we find ourselves in.
Fines will be dismissed during this emergency.
