Plein Air 2014 SILENT AUCTION AND RECEPTION
A Plein Air Festival is an event where artists are invited to come into a village and paint the scenery. The paintings will be offered up for sale with the library receiving a percentage of the profits. Morristown's 2014 festival will be July 31st, August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
- Sunday, August 3rd:
- A Silent Auction and Reception is open to the adult public with host Frank Putman at The Pony Barn, 2908 SH 37, Brier Hill at noon. Each participating artist will submit up to 3 paintings to our curator Lauren Woodcock for judging and silent auction. There is no cover charge to attend this event. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the afternoon. Live music featuring Church, State and Private Sector - an eclectic band from the Adirondacks - will entertain artists and collectors alike during the auction. Elegant refreshments will be available. First, Second and Third Place Awards announced at 1:00 p.m., People's Choice and Artists' Choice Awards will be announced at 3:00 p.m. We are thrilled to announce our judge this year as Laura Foster, Director of the Remington Museum in Ogdensburg, NY. Silent Auction bidding will close firmly at 3:00 pm. Highest bidders must pay for their paintings at 3:00 pm. All purchases will entitle the buyer one chance to win two round trip tickets between Ogdensburg and Boston, a value of $458, courtesy of Cape Air. This drawing will occur after all of the sold paintings have been distributed to their new owners, tentatively 4:00 pm.
